Google has long monopolized the search engine arena and Trust branding is what sustains them at number one. Google being on top wouldn’t just sit on their laurels doing nothing.

It may take long before Bing gets past Google and impress me as far as relevant search results is concerned.

I rarely use Bing or Yahoo as I prefer to use Google. Must be a branding thing

I did use certain keywords with both Yahoo and Bing and I’m actually surprised that they gave a better result. Still it’s hard to get away from the pull of Google. Perhaps I should try a lot harder.

Hi James,
I really don’t mind ranking for Bing. Organic searches from Google boosts this blog’s traffic without much promotion to do unlike Bing which only brings in a handful. It’s not that I’m hostile with Bing but I just can’t figure out the way its algo’s heading.

Hi John,
It’s good to see you here on my blog. New faces are pretty much flattering and inspiring for me especially when they leave a comment. I really do appreciate it.
It’s pretty weird when in fact I had my site optimized for my domain’s keywords. Maybe one of the factors was that I don’t have my sitemap submitted to Bing. I would have wanted to submit it but chances aren’t favorable. I still find Google superior.

Do you find Bing search relevant and helpful? Or useless and awful?

I couldn’t exactly say it’s helpful but neither could I say its useless. I rarely ever use Bing when I do a search. I use only Google. My boss uses only Yahoo. He tried to convince me that Yahoo returns better results than Google. But I still use Google anyway (perhaps by force of habit?).

The reason I can’t dare say its useless is because I had a site which from the very beginning had stuck itself at number 1 for its particular search phrase. (Checking my sites’ rank is just about the only time I use Bing). While google did its usual ‘google dance’, bing stood fixed like a statue all throughout the period with my site. While I have some idea how to do google SEO, I have no idea how to do Bing SEO. Like I said, I have a site at number 1 in Bing, but some other site of mine did not have the same luck although I used the same SEO techniques for both of them.

I'm not exactly sure what I think about Bing yet. I should probably try it out a bit more often, but Google is still such the power player in search that its easy to spend all my time trying to figure out how it works. From what little I've seen, the results in Bing are very similar, just mixed around in a slightly different order. I think its a little more focused on anchor text and less focused on domain names, and maybe that's why they used a deep url to represent your site.
