With the recent addition of Twitter list, the service has become appalling to use adding up to the congestion you can get out of it. I would remain positive on the thought that Twitter will still exist a little longer and somehow manage their service well focusing on their security measures rather than adding silly and childish functionality like Twitter list.

You’re right, it’s definitely too early at this point to compare Twitter against Yahoo Meme but we cannot underestimate
the power of the second largest search engine provider from getting into the social media scene.

I’m looking into the possibility of Meme apps once Yahoo releases an API and when that happens, Twitter will surely be getting some hint.

Yahoo has tried to reach-out on internet with many new services but none of it was as successful as its messenger. So, comparing Yahoo meme to twitter at such an early stage won't be a good idea. Twitter, inspite of many hackers attack, has successfully managed to gather huge crowd. And has become the most popular micro-blogging platform. Almost every internet business is using twitter to increase its popularity over the WWW. Good job on the introduction, Mathdelane. I’ve heard of Yahoo Meme but have yet given my full attention on its progress. Seems to me it’s also a sharing/microblogging tool but as you said it, I agree it’s a little too early to compare it with Twitter. Do keep us updated with the features.

Giving credits to original poster, that’s good; however sometimes a little modification is needed to spread the msg, depends. No strong objections on that but glad to know the specialty.

I was test driving the service and I find it unique in some ways. I might post something more about Yahoo Meme soon as a follow-up. Most eyes are on Yahoo Meme right now expecting a lot. Some even called it the Twitter Clone. At this stage, we can’t say that it is a threat but overall it has potential.

It’s good to have you here and thank you for leaving a comment.

Design-wise and interface–it’s probably comparable with Tumblr. I’m not so familiar with the service because I don’t use it.
It amazes me that Tumblr still needs Twitter to expand their reach through their interface “Send my Tumblr posts to Twitter” option.

If I were to look into the big picture being Yahoo, I would want to be as over-hyped as Twitter. This is something that everybody is expecting to come out in the long run, don’t you think?

Yahoo has the machinery, we all know that. At this stage, they still rely on the feedback. Their first baby steps I think would be coming up with an API, only by then that we’ll expect desktop and web-based apps to connect with the service and eventually start competing with Twitter.

Yahoo Meme is great, I’ve tried it and I like it.. Maybe it can be a good competitor for Twitter and other microblogging services.

I think Yahoo! Meme is more comparable to Tumblr rather than Twitter. I noticed though that the system is not yet integrated with Yahoo per se like you can’t put Yahoo or Flickr video urls at this point. It will be interesting if updates that you allowed to appear in your Yahoo! Profiles would sync with Meme as well.
