Your right. Free websites are a waste of time and will never acomplish anything. I do recommend people tray wordpress.com as a practice site. That way they get to check out the WordPress dashboard before they try it on their own server.

We all have different reasons why we choose a domain name. In your case, you’re lucky that you were able to get the domain name you wanted although at first it wasn’t available. Maybe it was really destined for you. With your blogging, everyone of us start from scratch, it’s all up to us to keep the sail.

I was lucky enough to be able to have my name as my blog’s domain name. When I first gained an interest into blogging just this year, I found that the domain name moralde.com is not available. I was kinda let down because this name would have been perfect for my very first personal blog. Before buying a domain name however, I took 3 months to study and prepare for the initial materials to publish. At the last hour, before I bought an alternative domain name, I checked for availabity of ‘moralde’ and found to my surprise that it is now available. Yes, it’s luck, it’s fate.

You’re right in saying that it’s like having a home. I love it when some ‘relatives’ from everywhere send me messages of having stumbled upon my blog and asked about where I live and who my father, grandfather, etc…., and that they’re proud of my blog. They feel they also have a home in cyber world.

With my blog, amateur as I am, I’d like to call it more as ‘personal’ than ‘professional’ though.
