Reduce The Screen Brightness. I recently started experimenting with my screen brightness and realized I could turn it down a few notches and still read my screen perfectly. Perhaps you could try the same as I think you will be quite surprised how easy it is.

I totally agree with you, it really is not hard to turn the computer off I wish people would see sense and stop being lazy and do their bit for the environment.

This can be a big problem, especially in offices where tenants’ electricity is built into their rent. They have no incentive to turn off the machines since they are not paying for the electricity. As an IT consultant, I try to tweak my clients’ power settings to save some electricity when they are not in use.
