This procedure worked for me otherwise it wouldn’t be here on this techblog. Yours could be an alternative. My host is Hostgator and I do this all the time I add a new domain and never had any problem.

Hi! I tried this but it doesn’t work. I’ve solved the problem though. Try to disable magic_quotes_runtime on your php.ini config. Details are in my blog at http://www.fluxfun.com/2011/09/07/wordpress-tinymce-visual-editor-fix/.

I guess I am fortunate enough to not encounter this problem. It would have been very inconvenient for me to lose those icons/buttons in the visual editor as I use them quite often, if not all the time.

As to hotlinking, I didn’t know you could protect yourself via the cpanel. I’ll try to check my cpanel on my host if they have one. I haven’t noticed it before.
