Practical Tips to Save Bucks in 2010

by Mathdelane on January 15, 2010

Reading time: 2 – 4 minutes

The recent holidays may have affected our budget right at the beginning of this year however it’s not a reason for us to be broke and is never an excuse not to bounce back after all those holiday expenditures.

As we approach the first quarter of 2010 let us examine ourselves and find out what have we done in the past that put us to where we are now especially in terms of finance.

Are we struggling, on the average or we’re ample? We could have engaged ourselves in buying the savviest phones, laptops, or what have you for gift giving and while the reasons are clear to share the joys of the season, we could have also thought of the upcoming days, right?

Genuine saving tips could be read on the 30 Ways to Save Money and lots of coupon codes can be found on the web and elsewhere but have you ever thought of paying your car insurance before the holiday season breaks in?

Spending has only one rule of thumb. Don’t spend more than you can earn and don’t eat more than you can chew. It sounds like a cliché but often times true. I hate enumerating ideas like some blogs do like top ten, top five etc., because that doesn’t make sense to me.

I think knowledge is endless and numbers are infinite. You can enumerate five today but tomorrow it could be six or seven. The only one that controls the numbers is you. It’s all about the numbers game. The more you have sometimes the more you give in.

Think about a large jar and a small jar. If you fill both jars with the same amount of water, the smaller one would spill. If your outlook about money is the same as the smaller jar, no matter what amount you have, the tendency of spilling out your earnings is big but if your outlook about money is the same as the large jar, no matter how small any amount you may have, it will just get bigger.

I hope that after I die, people will say of me: ``That guy sure owed me a lot of money.´´

Do you have your own practical money-saving tips? I’d appreciate if you’ll share it.

Everyone can be bad at managing finances but only if we allow ourselves to fall into it. Thanks for commenting but next time, put your nick on the namefield and not your site’s name.

There are many people who just can `t control their spending habits. And this is only a problem if other areas begin to suffer in life. This suffering is intrinsic, financial or just in general, whether it’s with family, friends or at work. Often there are reasons why someone has the need to spend and it’s often when they are raised these questions about the spending stops.
