Hi Michael, on your first question, it’s a must that you should get rid of the Conficker virus throughout your system in order to be sure that it would not be a threat. I’d suggest that you run a complete scan and check if its already gone and only by then that you’ll be free from the malware and remember to always update your antivirus and download necessary updates from Microsoft. Regarding your memory stick, have it scanned with your antivirus and after it’s healed from the malware, just use any file recovery software to get your corrupted files as some of it may not be totally gone if not all. Thanks alot it was really helpful. I just have one more question and sorry to bother you. I was wondering since it can travel to usb and other media devices, for sure it has traveled on to my external hard drive (which i scanned and deleted viruses on the weekend) but i was wondering since i updated my computer and if for some reason i skipped over that virus do you think its still a possiblity to get it even if i reformated and updated windows and my virus scanners? And i also have a memory stick pro duo media card and for some reason it became corrupted a little while ago, could it be because of conficker as well and can it be fixed, because it says its copy protected and it wont let me lift the protection and/or format it. Sorry to bother you with all this. Please get back to me if you can. Thanks.
