PrivacyHarbor Releases Beacon Desktop Email Notifier
Reading time: 2 – 2 minutes
Email account holders of PrivacyHarbor can now to be notified of new emails via a desktop add-on feature, the Beacon Desktop Notifier, which alerts users for incoming email messages (via a pop-up) whether they are logged into their email accounts or not.
The email notifier will be available for download at www.privacyharbor.com starting today, October 5, 2009 free for all accounts.
Users who will log-in to their email accounts starting today will receive a notice confirming the download. If a user chooses to cancel, he/she can still download the software at a later time by going to the website’s services tab via the download page.
Among its features include the Beacon Icon Statuses which are unique icon indicators that can be found in your system tray telling you of your online and offline statuses and whether you have a new message or not.
The Inbox Beacon Message Preview and SnapGuard Beacon Message Preview are the pop up messages, the latter of which only shows those emails coming from unknown senders catched by SnapGuard. By default, notifications from unknown senders are sent twice daily.
The email notifier is compatible with Windows 2000, XP and Vista systems.
I’m pretty excited about this, and I will get you all informed once I get a hold of this application so stay tuned.

It’s great! Not only are you getting secure email, but they are adding on features that Outlook express has! They are extremely customer friendly and always wanting to make their customers happy, they are speedy to answer emails, they always want customer feedback and suggestions and they care! You DON’T find that in other email providers. Privacy Harbor is awesome! Their reasonably priced and it’s completely secure. Unlike the other secure email companies that say they are secure and are ridiculously overpriced and work with third party companies. NOT something I want!
@Taufiq,
I really don’t need much notifications for Gmail, I simply use Thunderbird to read emails. I haven’t tried GTalk yet but I’ll take a look.
@Megan
Thanks for the comment!
I’m happy with the free account.
I really believe that Mac Os Mail is the best out of them and when you combine it with dovecot, you can really harvest its power.
@Spyros
I’m not familiar with Mac OS Mail nor dovecot but I believe that you have a valid reason why you liked them. I’m sure Mac users will take a look at your recommendation.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope to see you here more often!
